Ingredients:
- 1 lb frozen green beans
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 fresh lemon, zested and juiced
Instructions:
- Place a dry 12-inch heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes until a drop of water evaporates instantly. Do not add oil yet.
- Add the frozen green beans in a single layer. Let them sit undisturbed for 3 minutes to allow surface frost to evaporate and skins to begin blistering.
- Once beans are dry and show brown 'freckles', drizzle with avocado oil and toss to coat. Add sliced garlic and red pepper flakes.
- Sauté for 4-5 minutes, moving frequently, until garlic is golden and beans are tender-crisp.
- Turn off heat. Immediately add lemon zest, lemon juice, and sea salt. Toss to combine and serve immediately.
