Ingredients:

  • 750 ml Dry Spanish Red Wine (Tempranillo or Rioja)
  • 120 ml Spanish Brandy
  • 60 ml Freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 Large organic oranges (one sliced into wheels, one juiced)
  • 1 Large Granny Smith apple (cored and chopped into 1/2-inch chunks)

Instructions:

  1. Place the chopped apples, one sliced orange (from the two prepared), and the juice from the other orange into the bottom of a large glass pitcher. Use a muddler to firmly press the fruit for 45–60 seconds to release essential oils and juices.
  2. Pour the Spanish brandy and 60 ml of fresh orange juice over the muddled fruit foundation. Stir vigorously until any released fruit sugars are incorporated.
  3. Add the full bottle of dry red wine. Stir the mixture well to integrate the spirits and fruit juices.
  4. Allow the sangria to chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to let the flavors marry. When ready to serve, pour into ice-filled glasses.
